Runway is made by Iris Futures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. In this policy "we" means Iris Futures Ltd and "Runway" means the iPhone app.
| What | Where it's kept | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Figures you type in: pay, pay rates and tax code, bills, debts, pots, pensions, savings, retirement plan, payday check-ins | A file in Runway's private storage on your iPhone, encrypted by iOS whenever your phone is locked | Only you, on that phone |
| Net worth history worked out from those figures | The same file | Only you |
| A bank or broker key, if you choose to connect one | The iPhone Keychain, on that device only (not synced to iCloud) | Only you; see section 3 |
| Reminders you switch on | Scheduled by iOS on your phone | Only you |
We never receive any of this. There is no copy on a server, because Runway doesn't use one.
If you choose to paste in your own key from a bank or broker, Runway uses it to read your balances directly from that company over an encrypted connection. The request goes straight from your phone to them, not through us. Their own privacy policy covers what they hold. Remove the key in Settings → Connections at any time.
If you turn on the app lock, iOS checks your face, fingerprint or passcode and only tells Runway yes or no. Runway never sees or stores your biometric data.
Once you've saved or shared a file, the place you sent it to looks after it.
Like most apps, Runway's data is included when your iPhone backs itself up to iCloud or a computer. That backup is between you and Apple, under Apple's terms.
Runway does sums with the figures you give it. It isn't financial advice and doesn't know anything about you beyond what you type in.
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data a company holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. We hold none about you, because everything stays on your phone. You can correct anything in the app, erase it all in Settings → Privacy & data, or delete the app. If you have a concern, you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Runway is meant for adults managing their own money and isn't aimed at anyone under 18.
If Runway starts handling data differently, for example a new way to connect your bank, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
